SB177 Nv Helmet Choice Bill Letter to Senator Schneider sent 5/15/11

Dear SB177 Supporters,

Wait till you see the you-tube I'm doing to demonstrate just how vile of a biker bigot this Nevada State Senator is!

A few SB177 supporters have been telling me to tone myself down but time is of the essence.  I won't need to say one word - wait till you hear for yourself the ugliness that was spewed out of this senator's mouth.  If that doesn't inspire helmet choice supporters to act, nothing will.

Here is what I just sent to that Senator with copies to the rest of the senators.

Dear Senator Schneider,

Regarding this statement you made on April 14th, 2011, right before voting NO to SB177 in the Senate Transportation Committee.

You said,

"And a young senator from Southwest Las Vegas, Senator Halseth, went to Opportunity Village.  We had an evening there and there was a gentleman in one of those sloped wheelchairs, and hit his head in a motorcycle crash.  And it cost, his family has gone bankrupt and everything else, because the choice wasn’t you know … he made the wrong choice, while it cost society .. (undecipherable.)   I see absolutely no way how this benefits the State of Nevada in any way.  Absolutely no way.  It’s a financial endless pit.  So I can’t support this at all!"

The undecipherable part of my transcription is because the people in the Grand Sawyer building in Law Vegas that were listening to you were howling in disgust.  So I couldn't quite make out every word you said.  But you insinuated that the person in the wheelchair got there for not wearing a helmet.  Was this person riding a motorcycle in Nevada?  If so, was he wearing a helmet or not?  I think it's crucial that if you are going to vote NO to something as important as the Bill that will have the most positive economic benefit to Nevada, you should be accountable for your words and be truthful.

Also, where was Senator Breeden on May 12 that she missed chairing her own Transportation Committee, thus avoiding the moped bill (AB508)?  You said she was in another meeting.  I looked online and did not find any other meeting that conflicted.

You all answer to We the People.  If she is not well, that is one thing.  But if she is avoiding hearing difficult bill, then that is an issue that We the People of Nevada have the right to know.

And while I have your attention, I'm including a you-tube I produced - it's only 10 minutes of the meeting you chaired related to AB508 in Senator Breeden's absence.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xkUeVwtiLgU

Please advise so I can report back to my extensive list of SB177 supporters.

Respectfully submitted,

TigerLily

P.S.  I await the apology I requested of you for portraying motorcyclists in such an insulting manner on April 14, 2011.  It's one thing to be ill informed, it's quite another to insult the many motorcyclists that ride in Nevada.
